PIREP - Stark Avionics

As numerous person, I appreciate pireps from those with knowledge about shops you utilize (bad or good) and love to give my experience for your thought on others at the same time. After a so-so experience after a recent avionics install, I came across myself looking for an alternate avenue for the installing a fresh transponder for ADS-B compliance. I called two local shops first. The price of one was very high i actually busted out laughing on the phone like I were with a comedy bar. He was apparently less amused when i. I was telling the storyplot of my local quote with a friend on the airport and he recommended which i call John Stark at Stark Avionics to get a quote. In doing my due diligence before calling John, I browsed Mooneyspace and BT for pireps about the shop. In the process, I came across a completely terrible pirep on Stark Avionics. (Search in BT if you need to see it). This pirep caused me serious concern about if you should call Stark for the quote.

I posted a broad query for recommendations on an avionics shop and received another recommendation for Stark from another MSer (Oldguy). He i spoke in reference to his knowledge of Stark and i also decided to give John a call based on the two recommendations I received from trusted sources. I was open with John regarding my concerns relating to the negative pirep on MS cheap I was gun shy in line with the previous experience. As they always say, there are two sides to every story and John took his time to explain his side in my opinion as I am certain he'll be willing to use someone else who wishes to phone him constantly in that way. Our conversation shifted through the pirep to pricing. John i discussed different equipment options, what can be perfect for my needs/wants and also the flat rate installed price for each and every option. We ultimately thought we would install the Stratus ESGi for ADS-B in/out. John quoted me a soft price, but was up front that this number might be slightly higher in the event the tray was riveted in (numerous Mooneys are). I attended the airport that night, took pictures and confirmed that my trays were that come with screws and forwarded those pictures to John. John responded really timely manner and confirmed the flat fee price for your equipment and install on paper and that we scheduled the install date and pickup date. The plane was to be dropped off the Sunday after Thanksgiving. John said although have everything else but ready by Tuesday, but I opted to schedule the pickup for Wednesday in the event there have been some snags in the process.
